Failed a smog check? You may qualify for financial assistance through the Smog Free Clark County Program. Our shop is proud to be one of the approved Nevada 2G smog test-and-repair stations participating in this program.
This program was created to help Clark County residents repair vehicles that fail emissions testing while improving air quality across the Las Vegas Valley. Eligible drivers may receive up to $975 in repair assistance toward emissions-related repairs needed to pass a smog test.
Our certified technicians can help guide you through the process and perform the necessary repairs so your vehicle can pass its smog inspection and get back on the road.
If approved, drivers may receive up to $975 toward emissions-related repairs. This financial assistance can help cover the cost of repairing components that cause emissions failures, including:
Drivers may qualify for the Smog Free Clark County repair assistance program if they meet the following requirements:
First, your vehicle must fail a Nevada emissions (smog) test. Make sure you keep a copy of your Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) showing the failed test result.
Visit the Smog Free Clark County Program website or apply below to submit an application for repair assistance.
If your application is approved, the program will issue a repair assistance voucher worth up to $975. This voucher can be used toward emissions-related repairs needed to help your vehicle pass a smog inspection.
We are proud to be one of the Nevada licensed 2G smog stations approved to participate in the Smog Free Clark County Program.
Not every smog station in Nevada is authorized to perform test-and-repair services under this program, which makes choosing the right shop important.
Oxygen sensors measure the amount of oxygen in your vehicle’s exhaust and help the engine run efficiently. A malfunctioning oxygen sensor can cause incorrect fuel mixture readings, leading to higher emissions and a failed smog test.
A professional diagnostic can pinpoint a faulty sensor and replace it if necessary.
The catalytic converter reduces harmful emissions by converting pollutants into less harmful gases. A failed catalytic converter is a common reason vehicles do not pass emissions inspections. Replacement or repair of this component is typically required to meet emissions standards.
An engine misfire occurs when one or more cylinders fail to ignite properly.
Misfires increase emissions, reduce fuel efficiency, and can trigger a smog test failure.
Diagnostics can identify which cylinder or engine component is causing the misfire.
Issues in the fuel system, such as a faulty fuel injector or fuel pressure problems, can cause incomplete combustion.
This leads to increased emissions, which may cause your vehicle to fail the smog inspection.
Repairing fuel system components ensures proper engine performance and emissions compliance.
The evaporative emissions system (EVAP) prevents fuel vapors from escaping into the atmosphere. Leaks in this system, often caused by a loose gas cap or faulty hoses, can result in a failed smog test. A certified technician can locate and repair EVAP leaks to pass inspection.
If your check engine light is on, your vehicle may automatically fail a smog test. The light indicates that the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic system has detected a problem affecting emissions. A diagnostic scan can reveal the root cause and guide the necessary repairs.
